The 2012 NFL power rankings have to reflect the Green Bay Packers winning again on Sunday (Dec. 2). Playing against the Minnesota Vikings, the Packers showed that they could even overcome heroics by Adrian Peterson to move to 8-4 on the season. Due to the Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers both losing in Week 13, the Packers are tied for the second most wins in the NFC. The updated NFL standings have the Atlanta Falcons pulling even further away from the pack, though, cementing that Atlanta is the best team in the NFC right now. When it comes to the second best team, an argument that the Packers are right there has to be made. Aaron Rodgers has led his team to four wins in their last five games and they now are tied for first place in the NFC North. Each game the Packers look even better on offense, even if their defense leaves many questions. The playoff picture in the NFC is really starting to develop as well, with the division leaders and wild card contenders starting to really pull away. The final four weeks of the regular season should be very interesting, but it is clear that Atlanta, Green Bay, and San Francisco are the three top teams in the NFC. Do you agree that the Green Bay Packers should be ranked as the second highest NFC team in the 2012 NFL power rankings? Can the Packers be good enough on defense to win the Super Bowl? |
